Former Texas Democratic Congressional candidate Dayton Steele has sparked worldwide condemnation after suggesting internment of ‘white supremacists’ and that their children be ‘molested’ and ‘starved’. Doubtless Steele did not mean it literally and intended for her political opponents to put themselves in the place of refugees and their children, but such excuses do not make her vile words acceptable. Whilst it is inevitable her crass comments will be condemned by many, it is important to understand the way that some elements of the left make light of child rape and worse, the many sinister groups on the left which engage in more serious and sustained attempts to legitimise paedophilia.

On 16 August 2019 Dayton Steele posted the following on Twitter (archive) – “What if we rounded up all suspected white domestic supremacist terrorists and took their kids from them and put them in camps and molested and starved them? Just curious.”

It would by no means be the first time a vile follower of the left had called for children to be preyed on by paedophiles. In June 2018, Peter Fonda apologised for tweeting calling for Barron Trump to be taken from, “his mother’s arms and put in a cage with pedophiles” (archive).

How is that leftists find it so easy to call for child rape? The grim truth is that left-wingers have a very different attitude to the age of consent and mainstream left-wing newspapers, political parties and pressure groups on both sides of the Atlantic have sought to portray paedophiles as victims of an immutable sexual orientation, much as they have sought to portray gay people.

In 2015, Salon published an article by Todd Nickerson entitled, “I’m a pedophile, but not a monster” (archive). The sickening article sought to humanise Nickerson and his vile lusts. It was eventually deleted at exactly the time Salon (with breath-taking hypocrisy) attacked Milo Yiannopoulos for allegedly making inappropriate remarks about paedophilia. In 2014 the Daily Mail (archive) and the Sun (archive) exposed Labour front-bench MP’s Harriet Harman, Patrica Hewitt and other prominent Labour figures for their links to a group called PIE – the Paedophile Information Exchange.

As the Sun put it, “Labour chiefs: It’s OK to have sex with 10-yr-olds – Sun exposes full horror of paedophile plan”.

As this website exposed in the article, “Peter Tatchell – Sex Brought ‘Great Joy’. To 9 Year Olds”, prominent left wing campaigners had their views on the ‘joy’ of paedophile ‘sex’ (or child-rape, as everyone else calls it) in publications like the Guardian.

@DaynaSteele seems to have deactivated her Twitter account. However, she is a trivial player, a washed up fool who likely did not mean her words. Whatever Steele’s intent however, we must remember that the depraved desires of many on the left to legalise the most despicable types of paedophilia and child rape are very real and must be resisted by all decent people.
