Unbeknownst to members of Kiwi Farms, police have been actively hunting for the Kiwi Farms members known as Ginger Piglet and TheDrivelBroadcast for nearly a year. The investigation even went so far as to ask Welwyn-Hatfield Borough Council for an email Ginger Piglet sent to them in early 2017 for forensic analysis. For now the police have hit a brick wall in terms of evidence so readers and even aggrieved fellow Kiwis are asked to provide information.
In late 2018 there were two tragic murders in America. A member of the sinister website Kiwi Farms walked into a school and started shooting having discussed it a few days before with Kiwi Farms’ leader Joshua Moon. A few weeks before that, a Kiwi Farms member called TheDrivelBroadcast photographed a building in Peartree not far from the school with an intent to intimidate me and other residents. Police have been actively hunting Ginger Piglet and TheDrivelBroadcast since then.
To understand why Piglet and Drivel are sought so enthusiastically by police it is important to understand both UK law and also the recent activities of Kiwi Farms.
In UK and US law, there is a concept of a person being an accessory to a crime. For example in the United Kingdom, under the Accessories and Abettors Act 1861 anyone who “aids, abets, counsels or procures” a crime can be prosecuted as though they are the person who committed it. There are also offences under the Serious Crime Act 2007 of assisting or encouraging an offence.
For some time the police in the United States and Europe have been concerned about the harassment, bomb threats, murder threats and actual killings associated with Kiwi Farms. Joshua Moon insists he and his forum are innocent and being harassed but police can read and do in fact read Kiwi Farms. Of particular local concern were the threats in 2016 to murder all the children at Peartree School. Later, threats were made to a named child at Grove Road School in Hertfordshire. Joshua Moon sent a similar anonymous threat to one of the same recipients a few weeks later but was forced to admit it after it emerged that there might be CCTV.
After the two murders and the alleged visit to Peartree police opened a significant investigation. A number of efforts have been made to trace and profile Piglet and Drivel. The police even went so far as to require Welwyn-Hatfield Borough Council to provide an email sent by Piglet on 11 February 2017 asking for minutes of council meetings I was involved in when I was a borough councillor. Analysis also apparently suggests Piglet operates a Tumblr food blog and has referred to a housemate called, “Scott”.

The police even went so far as to require Welwyn-Hatfield Borough Council to provide an email sent by Piglet on 11 February 2017 asking for minutes of meetings I was involved in.
The reason for this is that it is clear that, regardless of who has sent the threats, Piglet and Drivel have clearly been encouraging Kiwi Farms’ activities with a knowledge of what they are doing. On 18 August 2016, Ginger Piglet created a thread on Welsh blogger Jonathan Bishop. At the time it was well known that victims of Kiwi Farms had been subject to anonymous calls, harassment, publication of private information and even murder threats had been made by the associated email service lolcow.email. Piglet knew that Bishop would likely be the victim of such crimes.
Then, of course, terror threats were sent to a hospital in Wales using the Kiwi email service, after threats made on Twitter by Joshua Moon and using his email host. Following the ratio in R v Jogee; Ruddock v The Queen [2016] UKSC 8; UKPC 7, such foresight is potentially evidence of intent by Piglet to encourage such crimes against Mr Bishop.
Piglet has also stepped out of cyberspace into the real world to seek information against me and of course threats were sent to a school near me. So the police have been actively seeking him or her on suspicion of breach of s2, 2A and 4 of the Protection From Harassment Act 1998. Moreover Kiwis have expressly associated themselves with racial and political causes including Joshua Moon’s stated desire to exterminate all Jews and Muslims. The terror threats made were apparently intended to further the goals of this cause by intimidating perceived opposition. This may make terrorism legislation relevant.
Piglet has claimed to be a solicitor in the UK, although they have made several legal errors in their postings. If it is untrue then they committed an offence. It is a crime in the UK to pretend to be a solicitor. If it is true then the police will pass that information to the SRA and it is entirely possible that the SRA will intervene (close) their entire firm immediately. The SRA has a ‘character and suitability’ test which can be failed even if the solicitor has committed no crime. Key issues are dishonesty, discrimination and terrorism. Kiwi Farms exists to libel disabled people and has been linked to numerous terror threats. The SRA already have a special note about Kiwi Farms owner Joshua Moon’s previous attempts to frame me, so his associate Piglet would be down for all of the above.
A concern is that there have been child murders and it is entirely possible that Ginger or Drivel, both of whom have gone beyond their computer screens, may at some point attempt to carry out the threats made to children at Hertfordshire Schools.
Unfortunately, the evidence secured so far is not enough to make an arrest. I delayed this article as there was a possibility of someone being raided but the police say they are pausing their year long manhunt for now. However, all it will take to trace Piglet is fresh information in the form of a single domestic IP address. Ever.
At this point Ginger should really come forward and identify themselves to Hertfordshire police via Hatfield Police station. Because it is a law enforcement matter if he or she fails to do so and is later identified that is likely to be a breach of SRA rules in itself.
What is more, Piglet is now at risk of Blackmail. Joshua Moon the owner of Kiwi Farms is short of money. If he has any information on Piglet he could end their career with a single email. If he asks Piglet for a few thousand dollars towards site upkeep, how can Piglet say no?
At the same time I am aware of police and Federal interest in the United States. Josh is in the process of opening a hosting company in part because he regularly gets banned by others. Whilst he says it is for legal enterprises and free speech, his history is not reassuring. The company uses virtual hosts (Virtual Machines or VMs) and has a fairly small infrastructure. If a single website is seized to do so law enforcement might choose to seize the physical host. This would include all the “innocent” VMs on the server.
For some time the law enforcement issues have been when and how, not whether, to shut Kiwi Farms down. Anyone hosting with Moon’s new service 1776 Hosting risks losing their business at a stroke even if they are innocent but another VM on the same server has anything that would give law enforcement an excuse to seize it.
I have seen a lot of hot air from Kiwis including Piglet insisting that what they do is legal. Far from it. Piglet’s view is not shared by law enforcement who spent nearly a year trying to trace them. It is unfortified by reality. Anyone who assists Kiwi Farms risks their career, their freedom and their family.
