That Which Sleeps Fandom Becomes Near-Literal Cult As Delays Continue

Way back in 2014 I spent $50 on a Kickstarter for a promising looking Indie Game called ‘That Which Sleeps’. Per my previous coverage, (1) the (delayed) game is supposedly an ‘evil-returning-god’ simulator where the player manipulates a living world to prepare for their return. The game had a great Kickstarter but since then developers have consistently failed to keep their promises. The game promised to beta in December 2014 yet a year on, 31st December 2015, no beta has been released. (2) On protesting and suggesting contact with the Federal Trade Commission (the US equivalent of Trading Standards in the UK) in October 2015, your author and others received refunds and were removed from the game forums.

I do not intend to fully recap the developers’ discourtesy, lack of professionalism or broken promises here. Readers are advised to refer to my previous articles. The high points are that during the Kickstarter the developers claimed that the project was low risk because much of the game was already written. Kickstarter materials stated, “We have a working game” and also that a scenario viewer was complete and ready to release directly after the campaign, which ended in October 2014.

Beta was promised for December 2014, then March 2015 and it is now the 31st December 2015, New Year’s Eve. The supposedly working game is now in its second chronological year of post Kickstarter development. The scenario viewer has never been released although a partially functional map editor has been. After increasingly acrimonious forum posts from backers in October 2015, on 12/10/2015 developer Josh Perry promised some gameplay videos. There were to be three released at one week intervals showing the early, mid and late games. So far only one has been released.

Rational Wiki #3 – Gabriel Holl, Moderator, Resigns After Receiving Draft Article About Paedophile, Stating He Will “leave that s***hole to rot”

It is a myth that sex offenders (incuding paedophiles) have a high re-offending rate. In fact they have the lowest and sex offender registers have done little to change matters. The real offenders are an insidious hard core who lurk online, genuinely think that they are oppressed and work to normalise and legitimise their proclivities. Disturbingly the moderators of troubled website Rationalwiki (RW), David Gerard, Gabriel Holl and ‘FuzzyCatPotato’ have now allowed an ‘out’ self-defined paedophile going by ‘Shouniaisha’ as a user.

As set out below, there is no ‘doxing’ here. Whilst your author believes that ethical journalists can unmask subjects in the public interest, in this case personal information revealed about Mr Holl was publicly shared online by him on Rationalwiki (archive here)

Upon receiving a draft of this article, Holl resigned, saying of Rationalwiki that he will, “leave that shithole to rot”.  He also claimed the #GamerGate supporters sent him ‘death threats’, but declined to provide evidence.

The UK re-offending figures since 2000 show rates of re-offending for a variety of crimes up until 2012. As ever, the rate for sexual offences has hovered around 13-15% and was completely unimproved by the introduction of the sex offenders register by the Sexual Offences Act 2003 (it went up slightly).

The reasons for this are simple. Most offenders are young men who make one mistake, perhaps whilst drunk. They suffer horrible punishment, stigma and ruin. They never do it again. The same applies to female offenders. The figures for criminal damage (28-30%), robbery (37%-44%) on the other hand are much higher. Why no burglars’ register? The sex offenders register even includes children of 10 (archive here).

More so than with other crimes, a lot of sex crime is perpetrated by a hard core of offenders. Putting children and other low risk offenders on the sex offenders’ register and having them supervised by caseworkers diverts resources away from the truly dangerous, like depraved offender Craig Sweeney who abducted a 3-year-old after being released for a previous sex attack on another child.

The truly dangerous sex offenders are the insidious recidivists who honestly think they are oppressed. For decades they have sought to legalise paedophilia. In the 1970’s it was via the agency of PIE – the nightmarish Paedophile Information Exchange that even deceived and infiltrated well known human rights organisation, the NCCL (now Liberty) (archive here). Carter-Ruck Agrees to Consider Arianne Plumbly Case v Lucy Allan MP on No-Win-No-Fee

This article has changed rapidly at the last minute. If Arianne Plumbly’s version of events is true, she should be able to bring a claim against Lucy Allan. So where was it? My intent was to call out Ms Plumbly for empty words. The title was, ‘Bring It, Plumbly!’. However my research turned up issues worth investigating that casts things in a very different light.

As a Conservative I am very reluctant to criticise Conservative MPs. I wanted to be able to back Lucy Allan MP. My last article did – I even started a hashtag. However this is an ethical, impartial blog and I have criticised Conservatives in the past (for example, Jeremy Hunt) when it is unavoidable. In light of the fresh evidence I have referred Plumbly to Carter-Ruck and they have agreed to consider whether they can help her on a no-win-no-fee basis.

Lucy Allan MP said this to the Evening Standard (archive here) –

“Arianne Plumbly was dismissed from her employment with Lucy Allan, MP in Telford, after four months’ employment, for gross misconduct following misuse of the Parliamentary email system, persistent unauthorised absenteeism, refusal to follow a reasonable instruction and rudeness to residents.”

Contrary to Allan’s statement, whilst I was researching this article a disgusted source within the Conservative Party gave me a copy of the termination letter. The dismissal was not for any form of misconduct, but only for ill-health. It was on notice. The letter says this –

Why is embattled Conservative MP Lucy Allan being pilloried when left wing females get away with far worse transgressions? When sacked for Gross Misconduct, any employee, even those without 2 years service can sue – so where is the adverse tribunal finding in favour of sacked staffer Arianne Plumbly? Your Inquisitor says Allan is innocent until proven guilty.

Rational Wiki #2 – Wikimedia UK CEO Distances Herself from Rational Wiki and Sinister Paedophile Enabler David Gerard

Since the dramatic events of earlier this year, the UK branch of the Wikipedia movement, charity Wikimedia UK (WMUK) has a new Chief Executive, Lucy Crompton-Reid (archive here). Your author decided to ask her about David Gerard and some of his more … colourful history.

In my previous article, “David Gerard and the Paedophiles of Wikipedia”, I began the task of exposing Rational Wiki, a site that has become controversial because of its habit of making serious allegations based on utterly inadequate, irrelevant or simply non-existent evidence. Examples I referred to included allegations against respected Breitbart Editor Milo Yiannopoulos based on a Tumblr post and smears against me based on (literally) a deleted user comment on /r/GamerGhazi.

Pro-Trump Parliamentary Petition Live – Please Sign!

Earlier today I submitted a pro-Trump Parliamentary petition, supported by around 20 other people. The petition was already there! – Great minds think alike and another has been submitted at nearly the same time. Your author urges readers to back it. The petition not to ban Donald Trump is well reasoned and sensible, but has not been given the same support by the left-leaning mainstream media.

Petition – Allow Donald Trump in the UK

Your author, a cultural Libertarian, does not believe clumsily expressed political opinions should be used as a weapon to destroy free speech and is trying to start a counter-petition. Whilst I would not agree with his words, your author is concerned that the left do not use it as a Trojan horse to make the issue ‘verboten’ once again. A Parliamentary petition has been set up to demand Donald Trump be refused access to the United Kingdom. In the name of free speech your author is seeking to set up a counter petition.

Trump’s clumsily expressed views reflect real concerns. The left should not be allowed use them as a Trojan horse against free speech.

Migration is a sensitive issue. People in Great Britain have real concerns over migration – due to pressure on resources and due to legitimate fears about the very different culture of some migrants. An extreme example of this was the Rotherham scandal in which 1500 underage Caucasian girls were raped by predominantly Muslim offenders and it went on for nearly two decades because people feared they would be branded ‘racist’ if they reported it.

Trump’s strong views are undiplomatically expressed but reflect real concerns. Because of this I am trying to set up a counter Parliamentary petition asking the legislature to consider the concerns in a more nuanced, less kneejerk way. I need 5 UK supporters to give me their emails for a counter signature – can I find them? Please email me at the usual address or tweet @MHWitchfinder. I will turn on public Direct Messages for a while for this.

In case we are censored, supporters can show their support here anonymously whilst we are setting up the other petition. For irony, I have not included a ‘No’ option because if people do not support free speech, why allow it to them?

Why Straight Men Should Support Lesbians and Feminists Over ‘Drop the T’

Last night, radical feminists expressed concern as to why so many straight people were signing the ‘Drop the T’ petition. The Witchfinder is usually sceptical of the radical feminist movement but today he explains why straight men should be backing their LGB allies on this issue.

Imagine for a moment that a man in his mid 30s walks up to a younger woman at work, perhaps an intern. Imagine he then asks her for sex and tells her, overtly or subtly that her career is on the line. Monstrous! If caught, he would be deservedly fired.

Now imagine that he puts on a wig and a dress, states that he is a woman and tells her that, if she declines his sexual advances, she is a bigot and / or transphobic. This is happening now, in the real world. Continue reading →

Why #GamerGate Should Help the ‘Drop the T’ Campaign as UK Parliamentary Documents Reveal ‘Tide’ of Sex Offenders Posing as Transsexuals

‘Drop the T’ is one of the most important political petitions I have read in a long, long, time. Milo Yiannopoulos (@Nero), wunderkind cultural libertarian of Breitbart Tech (@BreitbartTech – worth a follow) has supported a petition for the Lesbian, Gay and Bi-Sexual rights movement to sever its ties with the transsexual ‘rights’ movement. It is essential that anyone who believes in freedom of speech sign this petition. Your author explains why #GamerGate should help.

Shocking recent documents from the UK Parliament show professionals concerned with an ‘ever-increasing tide’ of sex offenders posing as transsexuals to make offending easier. Picture via Dreamstime.

The Washington Post recently decried the defeat of the so-called ‘Houston Equal Rights Ordinance’ (HERO) (archive here). This innocuously titled piece of legislation was controversial because, in essence, it meant transsexual people who identify as women but with physically male bodies (i.e. who have penises) would be able to access women’s bathrooms.

Some feared this would be intrusive to women and worse, enable sexual predators. Opponents, screech the liberals, engaged in, “a campaign of fear-mongering and deliberate lies”. We are repeatedly told by a wide variety of extreme leftist / SJW talking heads that there is in fact no evidence any sex offender has ever posed as a woman to find victims.

No evidence? Those concerned about such sinister legislation could do worse than look at evidence recently filed in the United Kingdom Parliament by the British Association of Gender Identity Specialists, basically the professional association for doctors who treat gender dysphoria sufferers in the United Kingdom. They gave evidence (archive here, pdf here) to the Transgender Equality Inquiry on 20/08/2015 that makes terrifying reading. Please remember that this is not some right-wing extremist group – this is the professional body of the UK doctors who deal with transsexuals, and their President is concerned about –

“[…] the ever-increasing tide of referrals of patients in prison serving long or indeterminate sentences for serious sexual offences. These vastly outnumber the number of prisoners incarcerated for more ordinary, non-sexual, offences. It has been rather naïvely suggested that nobody would seek to pretend transsexual status in prison if this were not actually the case. There are, to those of us who actually interview the prisoners, in fact very many reasons why people might pretend this.”
