Comic Review Guidelines

Inquisition guidelines for comic reviews are brief – marks are allocated for story and artwork only, with up to 50 for each. Marking is based on objective quality as far as possible. To clarify, in terms of artwork that means whether it is well drawn. That also means marks are allocated not because the reviewer likes the story according to some subjective standard, but whether it is coherent, well written and / or capably executed.

  • 0-10 is very poor, blatantly not of saleable quality
  • 11-20 means below average
  • 21-30 represents mediocre work, acceptable but workaday
  • 31-40 is good
  • 41-50 is A-list work

The total score for a comic will therefore be 0-100 marks giving a rough idea of quality. Finally there will be an adjustment of between -10 and +10 points based on the reviewer’s subjective opinion to give an overall impression.
